In “It’s a Deal”, a look back discloses that fan-favorite character Alastor the Radio Demon was a serial killer in his human life. Being aware he was destined for Hell, he established communication with the realm beyond beforehand to obtain a powerful role there. Rosie, who leads Hell’s cannibal community, vowed Alastor he would become “the most powerful Condemned Soul in Hell” in return for his soul.

This prompts an important query: In what way is Rosie sufficiently strong to raise Alastor above all other Sinner Demons?

“The Rosie and Alastor deal is the first stepping stone in a larger narrative that encompasses so much, moving into the third season,” the creator states. “Clearly that is a perfect question: How is she so strong? The solution might be many things, but the answer is in season three. I am thrilled for fans to witness it.”

It is uncertain how long viewers will have to remain for Hazbin Hotel’s third season. The production companies have green-lit seasons 3 and 4, but the creator frequently remarks that animated production is a slow, lengthy process, and subsequent seasons have no release dates yet. Nevertheless, she says withholding on those details is a crucial aspect of maintaining the second season's attention where it belongs.

“The challenge of any agreement with demons, or narratives that have mysteries, is giving people just enough information to be like, Something's up here, and then revealing that as we go, and letting that be satisfying,” she says. “So I'm very excited.”

Questions Answered in Season 3

The creator assures that season 3 will tackle the queries fans have been posing, like why the cannibal leader commanded Alastor to vanish for seven years, which diminished his power in the infernal realm.

“The entire seven-year span, and the deals these humans are making, and everything — it contributes to a larger story,” she says.

Meanwhile, the origin story episode offers a further look into what the main characters of Demonic Sinners appeared as as humans, following after seeing another character's historical human form in episode 2. She says that a lot of thought was put into these character designs.

“The mortal forms of the characters carry great significance,” she notes. “They range from appearing quite distinct from their infernal version to seeming very similar. With Pentious, the initial design we see, there was a little bit of a debate internally between choosing something that represents the personality, as opposed to selecting an option that's very time-period accurate. We opted for creating something that just felt like it was him.”

She says the primary controversy over the mortal look of Pentious was his long hair: “We were like, ‘Nobody typically had extended hair of that style in Victorian-era London.’ But at the same time, we think the outline is extremely crucial, and we also just thought he looked good. We were like, ‘This just feels right.’ We sort of gave the excuse that he's a hermit, so he just let his hair grow out. So there is always a solution. As we design the mortal forms of these characters […] it is a very enjoyable process to explore and determine. I'm excited for people to view additional of what the human forms look like.”
