The athlete achieved her personal best of one minute 54.61 seconds last year in London.

The Olympic champion finished her two-lap season with a triumph at the all-female Athlos meet in NYC on Friday night.

{The reigning Olympic gold medallist, who earned bronze at the global championships last month, excelled in an impressive win in one minute 56.53 seconds in what was only her sixth race in a season affected by a muscle issue.

Fellow Briton and world silver medallist Georgia Bell took the runner-up spot once more in 1:58.33, while St Vincent's Shafiqua Maloney (1:58.57) claimed third.

"I've barely raced this season so it was likely less of a struggle for me to go out there and be motivated to perform," said the 23-year-old.

"The atmosphere at the event is crazy so it was really, really fun."

The women-only meet filled Icahn Stadium in its second edition, bringing a party atmosphere to traditional track, with musical performances and special crowns replacing traditional winners' medals.

The tennis legend with 23 major titles Serena Williams, who is married to Athlos founder Alexis O., was on hand to award the winners with their tiaras.

Previous champions took home sixty thousand dollars (forty-four thousand six hundred and three pounds) - one of the largest prize purses in track and field.

The competition also attracted some of the sport's biggest names, as the Kenyan three-time Olympic gold medallist and world record holder Faith K. triumphed in the mile race, finishing in 4:17.78.

The US Brittany B., the 200m bronze winner from the recent Paris Games, won the 100m and 200m double.
